Quilling is the art of rolling strips of paper and forming them into intricate works of art. It is believed to have originated in France or Italy in the 15th century and then spread through Europe and on to America. It reached its zenith in the 19th century but lost momentum with the industrial revolution, has become known in Vietnam recently thanks to skilful craftswomen in the North of Vietnam.
